Our expert obstetricians love their jobs!
If you don't already know our team of wonderful physicians, you've probably heard of them! All our physicians are board certified in obstetrics and are renowned in the community for their expertise and heart-felt care. If you are looking for just the right physician for you and your family, we think you have come to the right place.Stages of Pregnancy
We manage the entire spectrum of your pregnancy care, prior to conception to postpartum, including high-risk pregnancy.
Pre-conception: Count on your obstetrician to carry you through every important stage of your pregnancy. Even when you are just beginning to look ahead to becoming pregnant, we can help you with valuable nutrition and fertility issues.
Prenatal Care: Pregnancy can be one of the most exciting times in your life. Our physicians and staff are dedicated to helping you to have a happy and healthy pregnancy. Prenatal care is a very important part of your developing child's life. The sooner you start prenatal care the better for you and the baby.
Here's what to expect at your first prenatal visit:
- Medical history review with the nurse and physician
- Physical exam including a pelvic exam
- Lab work in our in-house lab
- Extensive counseling and patient literature
- Depending on the length of pregnancy, possibly a brief ultrasound.
First Trimester: We can learn so much about you and your baby in the first trimester and get you started on the right course for you and your baby's health. We offer Early Screen® (www.earlyscreen.com),a first trimester prenatal screening and ultrasound exam, that estimates your chance of having a baby with a common chromosomal condition.
Mid-Pregnancy:
Generally, our patients will receive an anatomy ultrasound, which includes visualization of the baby's internal brain anatomy, chambers and valves of the heart, liver, lungs, spine, diaphragm, face, kidneys, and measurements of fetal size. And we're happy to tell you the sex of your baby - if you like. Or we can let it be a surprise! Your choice.
Collection of stem cells from your baby's cord blood is a new technology now available. It is optional and we will certainly provide you with ample information and discuss the value of this lifesaving practice. Three of the leaders in family banking of stem cells are Cord Blood Registry, StemCyte™. and ViaCord.

Fertility / Multiples
Many couples are faced with fertility issues. Infertility can be due to many issues and causes. Some causes are easily diagnosed and treated, while others are not. On occasion a cause cannot be determined. Our physicians offer several fertility services. Deciding to embark in infertility diagnosing and possible fertility treatment is a major decision that should be made by the couple.
Our fertility services include:
- Extensive counseling
- Testing of the patient and spouse to diagnose the cause of infertility
- Assistance with ovulation
- Assistance with conception by Intrauterine Insemination
- Availability of donor sperm
If you do choose fertility treatment and it is successful, rest assured our physicians manage multiples - just in case! Estimates tell us that three in every 100 pregnant women in the United States will conceive twins. Fewer still, triplets or other multiples. We're here with expert strategies and care.
High-Risk Pregnancy
All families look forward to a healthy pregnancy and baby. For most families this is the case, but unfortunately not all. Some patients experience unexpected challenges and difficulties. A high-risk pregnancy means that a patient has a greater chance of complications. Most often these complications are unexpected while others can be planned for, due to known health risk factors with the patient's history. Our physicians have a great deal of experience caring for and treating mothers and unborn babies of high-risk pregnancies.
Seton Medical Center has been the premier hospital in Central Texas for care of high-risk pregnancies, with the finest neonatal intensive care unit in the region. Seton Medical Center has developed a 10-county referral network for patients with high-risk pregnancy. A healthy lifestyle and getting regular prenatal care are ways patients can help in the care of their developing baby.
We also have strong relationships with expert sub-specialists, such as perinatologists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, nephrologists, general surgeons and others we can all upon when needed.
